Printing Bar Codes

Is My Printer a PostScript Printer?

The version of On-Tap bar code printing software differs for PostScript and non-PostScript printers. To verify whether your printer is a PostScript printer follow these directions.

  1. Click on the Windows Start button and open the Control Panel.

  2. Click to open Printers and Faxes.

  3. Right click on the printer in question.

  4. Select Properties.

  5. Select the Device Settings tab.

  6. Look for a menu item that gives Postscript parameters (i.e., Available Postscript Memory, and/or Postscript Timeout values).  If there are any PostScript parameters listed, then you are using a PostScript printer.
